Vanessa’s experience is in start-ups. She founded Mercato in 2018 to deliver niche digital screen, automated marketing and data software solutions. Prior to Mercato, Vanessa headed up Benie software, a digital marketing software solution that powers systems for groups including Tabcorp, BUPA and News Corp.

MATT BANNON HEAD OF ENGINEERING

Sam spent three years at Amazon headquarters in Seattle where he was Senior Technical Program Manager for Kindle, driving the global Kindle app releases. Before Amazon, Sam was Head of Product and Technology at Big Red and Product Manager at iSelect. He has built and implemented complex digital transformation projects for global organisations across APAC, US and MENA – including News Corp, Bupa, Tabcorp, Charles Schwab, Memac Ogilvy and M&C Saatchi.

Matt comes to Mercato from EonX, a leader in the Australian Fintech sector, where he led several teams of full stack developers overseeing critical project deployments across major banks and insurance companies. He has been integral to the design and integration of fraud detection systems. Matt is responsible for leading the development and system architecture across Mercato’s flagship products.

MEL WYNESS CHIEF MEDIA AND OPERATING OFFICER

Mel brings 20 years’ of agency and media experience in Adelaide, London and Melbourne. In Australia Mel has been the Director of Marketing at Nova Entertainment and Head of Create, the broadcasters client strategy division before moving to Carat as a Client Director. She was Marketing Project Manager with Coca-Cola Company in the UK working across projects such as the SATC Selfridges Collection, the Championship League Partnership and the James Bond Collaboration.
